Bolted this to my deck. It feels very secure. The drainage through the posts is very clever, keeps the deck from getting slippery.

We looked at the ones at Costco but the Grill Pro is way more heavy duty. The hardware is all aluminum so no rust issues so far.

One of the features I didn’t expect to use this much is the built-in RGB lighting.
We have the lights set up both in the pergola frame and inside the cabinets, and it actually makes a big difference at night.
There are multiple color modes, so sometimes we keep it simple with warm white while grilling, and other times switch to colors when we have friends over. It adds a nice vibe without feeling over the top.

I got 5 boxes on Tuesday and the last one didn't show up until Friday. Had to postpone my help. Pergola is nice, but the shipping company was bit a mess.

Main reason I bought it was for shade while BBQing, and it definitely helps. Before this, standing in direct sun for an hour grilling was rough… now it’s actually comfortable even in the afternoon. I also added some string lights across the top beam, which turned out better than I expected — makes evening cooking a lot nicer.

Only other thing is I wish it came pre-treated a bit better for outdoor exposure, so I’ll probably seal it soon.

If you’re thinking about the motorized version—just do it. Being able to close the roof from a remote when it starts raining is peak luxury.

We just had some 50mph gusts and this thing didn't even rattle. Just make sure you bolt it into the concrete properly. Super sturdy.

Took about 5 hours with my brother-in-law. The aluminum is thick and the powder coating looks like it’ll last 20 years. Much better than those cheap kits.

I had one defective part on mine, but the seller replaced it within days with no hassle. It works great. It survived a direct hit by Helene here in the mountains of Western NC with no damage. If it will take that punishment, I'm sure it will take most anything.
